Teach on your own terms.

The best teachers are not confined to schools, and some of the best are not in them. InstructOS is for teachers who want independence from the school system and a way to earn from what they are expert in.

Independence from the school system

In a school, the syllabus, the schedule, and the students are decided for you. Working independently means deciding them yourself. InstructOS gives you the structure a school would have provided, a way to organize a subject into lessons and courses, without an institution around it.

Teach what you are actually expert in

Most teachers are asked to teach a syllabus. Fewer get to teach the thing they know best. Start from your own expertise and build the course you would want to take. Skills over credentials applies to teachers too: what you can teach matters more than what you are certified to teach.

Earn from what you teach

What you publish is yours. InstructOS is built so that teachers can earn from teaching what they know, on their own terms. How that works in detail is part of what is being built, and we will say more when there is something concrete to say.

What you would do

Extract

Start with the subject you teach best and what you already say to students about it.

Organize

Map it as mini topics and the links between them: what depends on what.

Publish

A lesson, a course, or a mini degree, a structured sequence of lessons. Same graph, your choice of shape.
