What InstructOS is
InstructOS is a model and set of tools for turning what you know into a course, a lesson, or a mini degree. Underneath every course is a knowledge graph, so learners move through a subject the way understanding actually connects. It is built for teachers who want independence from the school system, and for experts who never called themselves teachers.

InstructOS is an initiative of eCollective, The Education Collective, whose mission is to increase the collective intelligence of the world by making learning open, affordable, and lifelong.
eCollective's framework is the Six E's of Education. InstructOS serves two of them most directly: Expression, sharing and teaching what you know, and Endurance, making sure it lasts.
Knowledge that outlives you
Every person carries knowledge that exists nowhere else: what they learned from their own work, their own mistakes, their own decades. Most of it is never written down. Endurance means knowledge that outlives the person who earned it. InstructOS is the tool meant to make that real: a way to get what you know into a form that can be taught, kept, and passed on.

Skills over credentials
The point of a course is what you can do afterward. 'Mini degree' is our own term for a structured sequence of lessons, not an academic degree, and it confers no credit or credential.

Few barriers and kept inexpensive, so that more people share what they know.
